More on ICN
I still can remember my prayer just before the wushu finale music entered its first phase. It was a very quick prayer. God, I commit this performance into Your hands. And He really brought the performance through! He guided every single move I executed. No mistake at all! Even though I didn't have the stamina to do the air cartwheel, I did manage to pull off a very cool new stunt for my Chang Quan solo, one of which I just recently learnt from a wushu video in the All China Games 2005 Qualifiers. Also, I managed to execute my modified JiuJieBian solo sequence flawlessly for the first time. Plus my darling said that I looked more cool and confident today, owning the stage and the atmosphere. So happy!! Really thank God!!
Some things that I have learnt and experienced from this performance:
- Being a choreographer and a performer at the same time is very taxing. On one hand, you got to choreo the moves and guide the performers, on the other hand you have to perfect the moves yourself.
- One needs lots of warming up and stretching in order to perform well for wushu. That means one has to stretch very early in the morning, and one must really practise the whole performance with 100% energy as part of the warm up.
And by the way, I have added some temporary ICN links on the sidebar, so feel free to browse through them you want to see photos and how others feel about ICN. Do note that the 'my photo collection' link contains the nicer photos of wushu and dance compiled from all the other links.
Here's a few more shots of me during the wushu performance.
