Return of the Warriors
Just got back from the Singapore Poly Wushu Display: Return of the Warriors. Not too bad. Singapore Poly has always been known as one of the better wushu performing groups in Singapore, and indeed seeing is believing. Their excellent choreography involved heavily on the use of stage space and lighting. With a tremendous number of old skilled seniors, they had an amazing variety of styles. Furthermore, each performance is choreoed by a different group of people, so it was almost like a dance competition. Some of the performances also had a storyline in them, something that I can try to incorporate in my future choreos. My favourite performance was titled "Druken". Very nicely choreoed moves and sequences that cannot be described in pure words. If only NUS has more committed and talented wushu people around. Speaking of which, KE7 has a performance sometime in January next year, and I am expecting everyone to have lost of their skills by the time we start training in KE7. Sigh...
