Why Play Games?

5 main reasons why people play computer games, especially MMORPGs:

1) Relationship - Loves to socialise and in so doing expand their social circle or develop existing friendships.
2) Immersion - Desires to escape from reality or takes pleasure in immersing themselves in a fantasy world.
3) Achievement - Derives a sense of satisfaction in achieving success based on the game such as being the most powerful character.
4) Grief - Seeks to obtain adrenaline rushes from competing and winning or griefing other opponents.
5) Leadership - Enjoys to command, manage and organize the group or team to achieve a certain goal.

i identify myself with all of them, especially the achievement part. A little something i learnt from the CyberCrime workshop i attended today.
